Short answer: Decide the dock first. A self-emptying dock handles the bin, a mop-washing dock handles dirty pads, and obstacle recognition matters mostly when cords and socks hit the floor.
Floors come next: carpet and rugs call for a robot that boosts suction or lifts the mop, and hard floors give mopping more value. Pets add hair, so a brush that resists tangles and a dock that empties itself save the most work.

How this tool decides
Each model is scored on five questions: floors, mopping and dock, obstacle recognition, cost tier and pets. Features come from the maker’s own product page, for example Roborock’s dock and mapping details, Eufy’s station, Shark’s base, Dreame’s object recognition and iRobot’s avoidance wording. Where a page does not mention a feature, such as a camera, the result says so rather than guessing. Cost tiers are rough labels based on how the models rank on our best-of pages, not price claims. The first three matches are shown.
